Raychelle Baptist has been a teacher for 24 years. During her tenure, she has taught middle school and community college math courses. Ms. Baptist holds a B.A. in Middle School Mathematics, an M.A. in Instructional Technology, and a certification in Academically and Intellectually Gifted Education from North Carolina Central University. If given the proper nurturing environment, all students are academically gifted and have unique talents that can benefit society. Baptist has committed her life to inspiring others to overcome their fear of math and pursue a career in the STEM field. She currently teaches 9th grade students Math at 1 at Hillside High School in Durham, North Carolina.
As a member of White Rock Baptist Church, Ms. Baptist shares her faith through various ministries. Apart from encouraging spiritual growth, she also serves as Treasurer of the Durham Chapter of the North Carolina Central University Alumni Association. In addition, she contributes her time and energy to promoting economic wealth to Chapel Hill residents as a member of the Mu Omicron Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Her belief is we are interconnected and will only succeed if we work together to make this world a better place for current and future generations. She encourages and supports organizations that share and support her vision.
In her spare time, Ms. Baptist enjoys traveling with her husband and two sons.
